  I've been going to this location my entire life and I come for the chips and smooth salsa ;). It's a family tradition to eat at Macayo's for all of our events: birthdays, new jobs, graduations, etc.
  
  The service here is good. In the past we had a waitress who always remembered us and remembered our drink choices, but she's been gone for many years.
  
  I was saddened when the West Sahara location closed down earlier this year, and I hope the same fate does not meet the East Charleston location anytime soon.

  One of the better sit-in places to eat in the East side of town.  I always enjoy a good Tex-Mex restaurant and Macayos hits the spot.  
  
  Service here is also good, you can tell the servers have been here awhile.  The place does need to be relocated though, the area is shady.  Bathrooms could use some work too, I remember when the doors were so tiny that you had to tuck your gut and shoulders in to get through it.  Paying at the counter is so old too, it just congests the front where the wait line is at.
  
  My go to is the street tacos!

  Gone but not forgotten. I just left a few minutes ago and it will be 60 years of history in about 20 minutes.  My first and my last time there.  Figured I should make it to the oldest Mexican restaurant in Vegas before it goes the way of yesteryear. I over ordered on purpose since there was no tomorrow and took a lot home. Food and service was good. Four stars only because I can't go back in order to try other items.

  I'm originally from Arizona and sadly they have closed down the Macayos in Tucson Az so when I learned that Vegas still had Macayos I had to eat here. I went ahead and ordered quite a bit of food for memories sake And so that I could sample it all! Started with the cheese crisp - you must order it, it is a large crispy flat tortilla covered in cheese; different from the Texas quesadilla style but it's wonderful and I prefer it actually over the quesadilla style - The Baja chimichanga was first on the list and it's my favorite!  It's large and enough to share - I order the shredded beef, it's full of flavor and if you haven't ever tried the Baja sauce you will be hooked! It's a creamy cream cheese based sauce with a touch of jalepeno and spices and it's fantastic! It tasted as I remembered.. :) the enchiladas are hearty and full of flavor I love the cheese personally.. but all are good.
  The fried shredded beef tacos have always been a hit, the meat is out inside the taco and fried with the shell then stuffed with cheese and shredded lettuce .. full of flavor .. this time in particular they were cooked a bit long and lacked what I had remembered but I trust it was a rare occurrence ... you may want to mention for them to not leave in the frier too long. Rice and beans are good the beans could use a bit more flavor but still taste pretty good! So no complaints.
  The atmosphere here is nice and has the authentic Mexican food feel and background music .. the service is great! I think if you are looking for good Mexican food restaurant you will like it here!! Don't forget to get the sopapillas!

  My all-time favorite restaurant in the world. Probably... Because it has so many childhood memories for me. TCTs are the best. And the smooth sauce is unsurpassed.  That's about all I need here.
